"Hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
Grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are."
A lot of the times, I get quite discouraged when I can't accomplish something. I'm a fairly determined person, so if there's something I cannot do when I try very hard, it becomes a big disappointment for me.
My standards are just as high when it comes to spiritual goals. There are many things I wish to do better for the Lord. If I feel there has been no progress, I begin to doubt whether it's even possible for me.
I'm not a talented person. There's nothing that I am naturally good at. Everything I can do and have achieved is from working myself to the utmost, pushing myself past limits, and within these 6 years, relying on Him and His grace. I always believed that if I work hard, nothing would be impossible for me.
But then come the days when working my hardest doesn't seem enough, when setting higher goals seems to be too much to handle, and when pushing myself requires too much effort. How am I supposed to do this, Lord? How do you expect me to do this?
And the Lord's amazing, most comforting response. "I don't. I don't expect you to do this. I expect you to rely on Me to do it with you. I am here, Jessie. I am here for You."
What is it that we lack? Time? Patience? Hope? Strength? If we have only enough strength to run 10k of a 40k marathon, don't lose heart. We run our 10k with Him, and then He'll carry us the rest of the way. Whatever it is, "He'll meet us wherever we are".
So cry out to Jesus. Our Saviour. Our best friend. Our true Beloved.
