In the Words of Satan: by The Arrows

Don't let Satan fool you!!

Happy Birthday Bill Goa!

My Dad's birthday is tomorrow (May 26th)! Turning 50 isn't an easy thing, it's when you realize how "old" you've become; about half your life has been shaved off in what seems like a blink of an eye but I give thanks for my dad, his hardworking & persistence throughout those years (along with the Grace of God) has led to what we live now.

Knowing my dad's testimony, I really give thanks that God has protected him throughout his years in his youth during the times where it felt like he saw only one set of footprints during his life journey. My dad's personality is an interesting one, sometimes it feels like my dad has different sides of himself--one day he's funny Uncle Bill, the other day hospitable Bill Goa, the other a sarcastic Mr. Lau, and of course lastly, serious dad. At the end of the day, he's my dad who tries his hardest the past 20 years to protect his children, protect his principals, protect his religious beliefs, brings home the bacon, tries to be sane amidst a cloud of stress...etcetc.

I wouldn't want to compare between my mom and my dad but my brother and I made quite a few chuckles during Mother's Day. Although we appreciate my mom just as much, my dad takes most of the credit--well he should take most of the credit. Sometimes we completely & blindly miss the hard work he's done, but he kindly reminds us in his humblest way how hard it was to make hot water run in the house everyday.

This blog post seems a bit more fitting for Father's Day--but tomorrow would be specifically my dad's day. I wish him all the best, happy 50 years of not suffering and not hard working--but 50 years of experiencing God's small miracles in his life. May the Lord use him in his ripe 'middle-old' age to still be able to serve in his humblest & very joyful manner. May the Lord also use us, Uncle Bill's children, to carry on the principles my dad tried to teach us, and also the ones we grew up with having the Lord as the head of our household.

Happy Birthday dad!

P.s. Also have a very happy birthday to Jeddy as well!

God is Coming; Look Busy!

So many people are convinced that doomsday, the end of the world, the apocalypse, rapture--whatever they name it--will be happening this Saturday (on May 21st of 2011). According to these people, they've done their calculations through the Bible and predict that this is the day of rapture. Now, the Bible also says that we will never know when the Lord's second coming will be, and that He will come as a "thief in the night". In fact, He could come tomorrow, tonight, in an hour--who knows? But most importantly, are we prepared?
