Mary - mary and martha loved the Lord, though in different ways.
They called Him, "Lord".
Mary showed thru actions, no words except when Lazarus died.
First incident: she sat at Jesus feet The Lord must've shared things from His heart before her while she was at His feet.
Second incident: Lazarus' death When mary saw Jesus she fell before His feet in grief. Jesus waited when He heard the news of Lazarus death... "God's delay is not His denial."
He wants the best for us, He knows what is ahead. It is often harder for the one who makes the wait than the one who is waiting. Time is the best test of faith.
Isa 40:31 Jesus love was very personal to Mary.
He called for Mary when He arrived to see Lazarus. Mary and martha already had faith on Jesus even before He came. They said if You had been here Lazarus would not have died.
Jesus response was so full of compassion. He groaned in His spirit seeing Mary and Marthas grief.
Mary was so close to God but she still went thru hardships. He gives us the test of faith because He loves us. He is never far when we go through difficulties.
Psalm 71:21
Before you even go thru the trials He is already there for you, ready to catch you.
He wants all of you even when you are bitter while going thru trials.
Third incident: mary offering her costly oil to Jesus feet She was at His feet again.
Before His death on the cross He visited mary and martha. Mary gave her most valuable gift to Him. Hoe did she know? He must have told her when she was at His feet.
The Lord must have felt comfortable enough to share with her. She was so close to the Lord. Some ppl say she was the woman after God' s heart.
Her pouring of the costly oil is her showing of how much she loved Him.
However the Lord was touched not because of her costly sacrifice but because of her heart towards Him. He does not desire sacrifice from us but only wants our heart. If the things you do for Him is not out of love, He'd rather not have it.
He wants us to be the lover of His heart.
Let us be the modern Mary of this world, the woman after God's heart, be His lover.
